These paintings and drawings are my pieces of artwork featuring wildlife (flora and fauna etc). All are for sale, however some are original artwork or prints, and some are just prints.

The Cheetah's Stare - Watercolour and Ink
The intense stare of a big wild cat and the contrast between 'cute' and 'savage.' I achieved the dark markings with ink, and the colour with broad watercolour strokes. The original painting is hanging up in my living room as it goes really well with the orangey yellow and red colour scheme.

Koi Frenzy - Watercolour and Ink
The colours and textures of a group of swirling koi fish. The mixture of colours and patterns as they swim and their colours intermingle. I drew the fish with the ink first and filled them in with patches of colour, mimicking the patchiness of the koi carp's orangey-red pattern. 
This painting is a small piece of artwork, originally designed for the front of a greetings' card, but I decided it would be nice as a single piece of artwork hanging on a small area of wall, or a door. I haven't framed it, and it is for sale as it is - leaving the choice of frame style up to you!

Tortoiseshell Butterfly - Oil Pastel
This was inspired by a wildlife mural I was comissioned to do once. The customer asked for a butterfly like this and I created it in acrylics on an outside wall. I hated not being able to take it away with me so I drew it again at home and rendered it with oil pastels, achieving a really bright and contrasting effect. It is protected with a varish spray for oil pastels and mountedwith a simple white mountboard.

Poppy - Oil Pastel
The bold red shapes of poppy petals against a bright blue sky. Oil pastels are excellent for bright colours and this simple design is effective without any unnecessary detail.

Hawaiian Lei Flower - Oil Pastel
Hawaii is full of these wonderful flowers, on pavements having fallen from trees, in the trees themselves, and of course on the lei necklaces (real and pretend) that adron every gift shop, luau or tourist's hair (and some locals)! It is a simple flower which has a varied gradient of colours on its petals, which makes it interesting to paint. The oil pastels blend well with a good smudge of the finger (or a less primitive artist's tool)!

Baby Penguins - Oil on Chunky Box Canvas
Inspired by book 'The Midnight Sun' by Rosie Thomas, and her amazing descriptions of Antarctica. This oil painting is created with bold yet soft strokes of thick white and blue paint to give the impression of harsh winds and an icy, snowy atmosphere. The simplicity of the background with the detail of the fuzzy little penguins makes a contrast on the canvas.

Butterflies and Sunshine - Oil on Chunky Box Canvas
Inspired by Aruba and its amazing tropical butterfly farm. The painting aims to capture the butterflies' translucent wings against the sunlit sky and the direction of the their travel in an abstract way.
